The LeadersHP team consists of the core group of passionate professionals described below along with a number of exceptional Associates from a range of industries including the public sector, health, law, politics, media, research and psychology.

DIRECTORS

Mia Handshin

Mia is passionate about inspiring and developing those who want to lead with greater authenticity, resilience and courage. She is an engaging facilitator, insightful coach or mentor, an experienced and compelling speaker and an aspiring author. 

A lawyer by training, Mia spent the first decade of her career writing a weekly column and blog for ‘The Advertiser’ newspaper in SA. She worked in the law in Australia and spent time at the International Crisis Group (ICG) in Brussels. In 2007 she was a candidate for Federal Parliament, went on to work as a policy adviser to a Federal Minister for Sport and then as an Associate Director at a national Government Relations and Strategic Advisory firm. Between 2012 and 2016 Mia chaired the Board of the Environment Protection Authority in addition to working for The Leaders Institute for SA.

 

Mia has experience as a Trainer in Wellbeing and Resilience at the SA Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) and is an accredited practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). She is also a single mother to three children, a meditator, avid bush walker and loves to sweat-it-out doing hot yoga. 

matt cesaro

Matt is passionate about working with individuals, groups and organisations to increase awareness, impact and performance through people development, change leadership and strategic facilitation.  He loves to work with other people who are passionate about what they do, to support them to make the shifts they need to have the impact they want.   

 

His operational and leadership experience developed over 20 years in SA Health and Country Health SA.  Working both centrally and in regional teams, he successful led many change and reform programs in Organisational Development, Health Service Operations, Finance, Information Technology, Business Systems and Project Management.  

 

Matt has a range of qualifications and certifications to support this lived experience, including Management, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Embodied Practitioner (Integral Theory), The Leadership Circle (TLC), Advanced (Gestalt) Facilitation, the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and as a Resilience Skills master trainer. Matt is a busy cricket coach, an uber-driver/Dad, and a gifted teller of Dad jokes, according to him. 

ASSOCIATES

TANYA LEHMANN
Associate

Once described as having enough energy to power a small town, Tanya has over 20 years’ experience in leading large-scale organisation and systems change within the rural health sector in South Australia and nationally.  A clinician by background, experienced project manager, executive director, board chair, coach, mentor, trainer and leadership program facilitator, Tanya draws on a wealth of experience in navigating complex systems, figuring out how to lead consciously, nurture leaders and build workplace cultures that will sustain positive change.

Tanya is also an experienced Board Director and AICD graduate, having served for over 10 years on national not-for-profit Boards, including as Chair of the National Rural Health Alliance for 6 years.

Tanya is passionate about whole-hearted leadership and discovering ways to leverage strengths and harness the potential in individuals, teams and systems to thrive.  She gets really excited about co-adventuring with leaders, dancing on the edge of what is known, provoking fresh thinking and new perspectives, and designing practical experiments to test limiting assumptions and deliver break-through performance results.

Tanya draws on a deep and diverse toolkit, including qualifications in science (Dietetics), clinical education, communication, and positive psychology; credentials in coaching, gestalt facilitation, embodied practice (Integral Theory); and certifications in The Leadership Circle (TLC), Human Synergistics Lifestyles Inventory (LSI), Barrett Cultural Transformation Tools (CTT), Saville Wave, and Resilience at Work (R@W).

When it is time to recharge,  Tanya can be found outdoors enjoying the beautiful Murray River with her husband, two teenagers, energetic kelpie Nahla and good friends, or curled up with a good book in their rammed earth home.   

Rebecca weatherill
Associate

Rebecca is passionate about working with organisations to optimise staff performance and wellbeing in even the most challenging of situations; using practical, science-based solutions tailored to the needs, culture and personalities of each team. 

 

Her experience spans multiple sectors including over 20 years in the Australian wine industry, and supporting Boards and Executive management in agriculture, manufacturing, and not for profit. Optimising her #1 strength of Connection, she instinctively makes links between people by thinking of ways to bring them together for their mutual benefit.

 

Rebecca is an accredited mental health first aider, a certified coach and is completing a Diploma in Positive Psychology and Wellbeing. She practices what she preaches with regular strengths training, yoga, meditation and gratitude practices as well as daily nature walks with Gus the wonder dog.

BUSINESS & ADMINSTRATIVE SUPPORT

BELLE ELLERY
Business Support Manager

Belle is an experienced Human Resources Professional with a demonstrated history of working in the health care industry. Skilled in Employee Engagement, Recruiting, Training, On-boarding, and Human Resources. With a knack for organising pretty much anything and everything, she loves a challenge, loves learning and most of all she loves to share her smile and energy with everyone she meets.

She is a passionate photographer, has almost 10 years experience in various roles within the aged and disability sector and is affectionately known around the LeadersHP office for being a "qualified goober". She is currently responsible for managing an array of tasks ranging from communications, marketing, event management and  social media. She is part way through completing a Bachelor of Contemporary Art at the University of South Australia, and is very interested in art therapy amongst a collection of other pursuits.
 

Sharon Simonetta
Project Manager

Sharon is an experienced Administration Professional, skilled in Team Management, Leadership Support and Project Coordination. With a solid history of 15 years at her previous organisation, her innate curiosity always leads her to exploring possibilities for reforming and doing things differently.

 

Sharon loves to help people question their why, help them to discover what their real passion is, and be their ‘mirror’ so they can implement positive change into their lives. With her organisational skills and eye for detail, she is currently responsible for the financial management, document control and process development at LeadersHP.

 

She is a health and wellbeing advocate, Reiki practitioner and a passionate follower of all things football.  She is also currently working towards obtaining a Diploma of Remedial Massage.
